Herons make excellent dingies for fun competative racing. An active national open circuit operates throughout the summer (See the diary for event dates).

Many clubs also race fleets of Herons.  Where there is no Heron fleet the dinghy can be successfully raced using the Portsmouth Yardstick Handicppaing System.

 Heron's can currently be raced Single Handed or with a Crew at some National Events.
