Sails (for Gaff Rigged Heron) PDF Print E-mail
Equipment for Sale
Friday, 04 July 2008

Set of white sails for a gaff rigged Heron. Mainsail and standard jib both by Arun Sails.

Both are reasonably clean and still set well. Plus a 100% Genoa (no makers name).  I have never used this, and by the look of it neither did the previous owner, so it is in very good condition. None of the sails have any cuts or tears, and the stitching is OK.

£100 the set.

Heron no. 10309 £2300 PDF Print E-mail
Herons for Sale
Monday, 16 June 2008

For Sale - an exceptionally beautiful, new, ply-epoxy racing Heron No 10309. 'Swan Song'. (see article in Heron Newsletter June/Juy 08)

This immaculate modern Heron, recently completed and fitted out to the highest standard, is being sold to help pay for a new Safety Boat at Yeadon Sailing Club as a tribute to expert boatbuilder and long time member of the Club, Donald Acklam, who died last year.

Built and finished to the highest standard, it features a double-hull for additional built in buoyancy (as in the Butler FRP Herons), side tanks/ seats and a half-height bow tank. Fully epoxied inside and out. Bermudan rig with Needlespar mast, proctor boom and Jeckells racing sails (main and jib)

All new fittings and rigging with laminated centreboard , lifting rudder with ash wishbone tiller and extension.  Mainsheet strop with Harken ball blocks, 16:1 cascade kicker fed back to thwart, 4:1 outhaul and 2:1 Cunningham. Two Andersen bailers fitted and hull prepared for installation of spinnaker system, if required.  Fly-away carbon jib stick for effortless poling-out of jib or genoa off-wind.

Dinghy comes complete with a brand new mast-up cover, road trailer and galvanised, folding launching trolley with pneumatic wheels for easy launching and recovery on all surfaces.

This new boat is being sold at a price to simply recoup the cost of materials and to raise money for the Club - so save over £2000 on the cost of a new Heron from other sources.

Price £2,300 (includes road trailer and launching trolley)
