Small Jib for Heron 4 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi, I have a genoa with my FRP Heron. Does anybody know where I might be able to get hold of a smaller jib if there is one and what is the correct term to use if buying one or placing a wanted ad?

Thanks.

Chris 10310.

Hi Chris,

There are effectively 3 sizes of forward sail:

100% Genoa
79% Genoa
Standard Jib

This doc has the sizes:

You'll find 101 people with 101 opinions on which is best! However there is reasonable consensus that Genoa IS faster than Jib. Some say 79% is easier to handle and therefore as quick as 100% others say 100% is more powerful (?too powerful).

You should probably call it a standard jib. If asking a sail maker forward a copy of the document for clarity.
