The Kinvara Bay Sailing Club is hosting an OPEN race on Saturday, 23rd June starting around 12 noon.&nbsp; The event is open to all and we encourage our friends and colleagues from the UK Heron Association to visit that weekend.&nbsp; The new club officers will work through the details closer to the race but in the meantime, I would be happy to take any questions and will either answer of will forward to the club officers.<br /><br />Fortunately that weekend, it coincides with the Salthill Airshow over Galway Bay on Sunday 24th June.&nbsp; As a result, we hope that perhaps some of the 100,000 visitors to the airshow will detour for the day to watch or Heron Open Race.<br /><br />The poll is intended to give the KBSC a rough idea of the possible numbers that might show up.&nbsp; Personally, we are guessing that perhaps 6-10 of you UK sailors will venture west.<br /><br />Looking forward to hearing from you.....<br /><br />Chris Dufresne, PUTAIN, 10090

Fellow Sailors<br /> <br />[move]Heron Racing At Kinvara - 23 June 2007[/move]<br /> <br />You may have noticed in the &quot;Diary Dates 2007&quot; http://www.heron-dinghy.org.uk/component/option,com_jcalpro/Itemid,114/extmode,view/extid,22/ section of the Spring Edition of the Heron Dinghy Class Association News circular that Kinvara Bay Sailing Club,Co. Galway, Ireland are hosting a series of races in Kinvara Bay on 23rd June 2007.<br /> <br />The purpose of this email is to inform as many Heron Sailors as possible about the event and to try and to ascertain what level of participation can be expected from travelling participants in order to organise the event effectively.<br /> <br />The outline plan is to launch at about 1200 hrs at Crushua, a little harbour near Kinvara and to have a series of three races, weather permitting. The races will be set on the day depending on weather conditions but should be of 30 minutes duration each.
