Home Home Help Forum How do I post a question on the forum?

The furst thing you need is a username and password.  If you haven't got one yet then you need to read the FAQ about usernames and passwords first.

Once you have a username and password and have logged into the forum you will see serveal groups of forums:

• Racing
• Cruising
• Maintainace
• Website
• General

you need to pick which of these forums you are going to post your question in.  For instance if your question was  about how to repair damage on a wooden boat you would  click with the mouse on the Maintaince Section.  This section has been further divided into wooden, general and GRP - click on the appropriate heading with your mouse.

 The next thing to do is search the forum using the serach box to make sure no-one has already asked the question and received an answer.  If they haven't then you can post your question by clicking the button marked 'New Topic'

This asks for a subject - put something meaningful in the subject line.  Avoid just typing 'help' - the aim should be to make the topic clear at a glance - eg. "Which type of filler should I use?"

Then you'll see a text area a bit like a word processor - where you can type your question.  If you want to know which type of filler to use, provide more information about what you need to fill - eg the sixe of hole, where it is, your type of boat etc.  You can use the buttons at the top of the text box to add bold etc just like a word processor.

When you are happy with your question click 'Post'
