Use of the Heron Dinghy Class Association Website is subject to the following terms and conditions:
The Forum:
Discussions on the forum are open, and generally unmoderated. Your opinions are welcome, however, please post with consideration to the feelings of others and bear in mind the heron dinghies are sailed by children as well as adults so pornographic or otherwise offensive material is not acceptable. The association will apoint moderators to restrict, delete or alter postings as necessary.
The use of the forum for commercial gain is strictly prohibitted.
Access to the forum is restricted by password. The association will determine the appropriate level of acccess for individual users.
The Information Sheets & Newsletters:
Information contained in all association publications is considered copyright of the association unless stated otherwsie in the publication. The association will determine if information within these publications is available for non-members without charge. Please do not flout the rules and supply copies of restricted information to non-members.
Personal Information:
Storage of personal information and details is subject to the requirements of UK Legislation. The association will ensure appropriate confidentiality of information obtained through the website registration screens. The association will not share this information with other organisations or bodies without your permission unless legally compelled to do so.
The association now holds member contact information on the website database. This information is password protected, however, information passed between the website and your PC is not encrypted.
The association uses a third party to process on-line payments on its behalf. This third party (PayPal) holds information about members and your financial transactions including members credit card details in a secure database. Members are responsible for ensuring any information they supply is given to PayPal and not the Association or webites which may appear to be PayPal but are not. If in doubt seek advice.
The association will not at any stage know your credit card number if you pay via PayPal.
Abuse of the Website:
Attempts to hack passwords, change content, or capture email addresses for the purpose of mass mailing or any other potential abuse of a website is strictly prohibittted. The association will use its rights as webmaster to prohibit future access to users, IP addresses and domains where there appears to be abuse.
The uploading of scripts for any reason to the website is prohibitted without the written permission of the webmaster.
The association always reports abuse to internet service providers who may take action including barring individual subscribers from all internet access.
Upload of Images:
Images can be uploaded to several parts of the site. These images should relate to Heron Dinghy Sailing and must be appropriate to the nature of the site which incldues access for children.
